The Family

A warm private family based between Goncourt and République in the 11th arrondissement is seeking an experienced English-speaking nanny for two children aged 6 and 3. Ideally British or American, the successful candidate should be comfortable with the rhythm of Parisian family life and able to combine affectionate childcare with excellent organisation and a strong sense of responsibility.

School Runs & Mobility

A particularly important aspect of the position is collecting the children from two different schools and accompanying them safely to their activities or home. The schools are approximately 20 minutes apart on foot or around 5 minutes by bicycle. Confident cycling in Paris is therefore essential. The family provides an electric bicycle for professional journeys, and the nanny must be comfortable navigating Paris safely and responsibly.

The Role

The nanny will organise stimulating afternoons including creative play, educational activities, reading, games, outdoor time and outings. The older child will need support with CP homework, encouraging concentration, independence and confidence. The nanny will also prepare snacks and simple healthy meals, including lunch on Wednesdays, and supervise baths and the evening routine.

Child-Related Household Support

The position includes simple meal preparation and maintaining their personal spaces and belongings.The nanny should anticipate school and activity requirements, prepare what is needed in advance and leave the children's environment calm, tidy and functional.

The Ideal Candidate

Native or fluent English is required, with a preference for British or American candidates. The successful nanny will have proven experience with children of similar ages and confidence supporting homework. She should be creative, energetic and engaging, while remaining calm, reassuring and nurturing. Strong organisation, initiative, communication with parents and excellent judgement are essential, as is confident cycling in Paris.

Schedule & Practical Details

Monday 4:30–6:30pm; Tuesday 3:00–6:30pm; Wednesday 11:20am–6:30pm; Thursday 4:30–6:30pm; Friday 3:00–5:30pm. The family's priority is Wednesday plus one or two additional days, depending on availability. Occasional evening babysitting, approximately twice per week, may be requested by prior arrangement. There is no regular childcare during school holidays. Salary: 18–20€ net/hour plus 50% Navigo reimbursement. Start ASAP, long-term.
